Burna Boy will become the first Nigerian musician to headline a U.S. stadium in July, according to Billboard on Monday, April 3.
His July 8 event at New York City’s Citi Field is another major stadium stop on the Afro-fusion superstar’s Love, Damini world tour, which also includes visits at Paris La Defense, London Stadium, and Amsterdam’s Gelre Dome.
The Live Nation-produced Citi Field show coincides with the first anniversary of Burna’s most recent album, Love, Damini, which hit No. 2 on Billboard’s Global Albums chart and garnered a 2023 Grammy nomination for the best global music album.
Last April, he became the first Nigerian performer to headline Madison Square Garden with his “Burna Boy Presents One Night in Space” show.
He will also co-headline the Pepsi Kick-Off Concert for the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final in June at Istanbul’s Atatürk Olympic Stadium.
