Shatta Wale, Ghana’s dancehall king, has stated that he will only engage in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards scheme if the organizers make a move first.
According to him, the board should take a “nicer approach” so that both parties can negotiate and reach an agreement so that he can attend the show.
Shatta Wale stated on Hitz FM’s U Say Wetin program, “VGMA is my ex-girlfriend, anytime they want to come back, I am here.” I believe they should take a nice attitude because they are the ones organizing this.”
“They should also find someone from the office to come and invite me to come on board and it will be beautiful,” the ‘Melissa’ hitmaker explained to Hitz FM’s Prince Tsegah.
When questioned if he is inviting organizers, he replied, “we should take this like that…we have to understand that united we stand divided we fall.”
He added, “I don’t have VGMA at heart and I don’t have any enemy there. It’s just that things happen and we move on.”
As you may remember, the VGMA kicked Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy out of the program in 2019 after a fight that ruined the show’s 20th jubilee.
However, the prohibition was lifted in 2021, and Stonebwoy has been a component of the program since 2022. However, Shatta Wale has not yet joined the plan.
