Piesie Esther has voiced her disappointment at not winning the Songwriter of the Year and Best Music Video honors at the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
The Gospel musician mentioned in an interview with Berla Mundi and Cookiee Tee on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, that she had great aspirations of winning both prizes for her hard work and dedication to her craft.
“Oh my goodness, I wanted to pick awards for Songwriter of the Year and Best Music Video. I believe the video for Way3 Me Yie was well top-notch and deserved to win,” she said.
Piesie Esther was pleased that the songwriter of the year honor went to fellow gospel musician Perez Music for his song ‘Hewale Lala,’ despite missing out on both accolades.
“For that one, it’s fine by me but I wished I could have snagged the Best Video Award,” she said.
Piesie Esther, who was named Best Gospel Artiste of the Year and Gospel Song of the Year, was grateful to her fans and the VGMA organizers for the honor.
