Real Madrid won thanks to a hat-trick from Karim Benzema, who stole the show. On the verge of halftime, the French forward helped Vinicius Junior score the game’s first goal.
Then, in the second half, Benzema scored twice, including a penalty that he calmly converted, to complete his hat-trick and guarantee Real Madrid’s place in the championship game.
Real Madrid clearly deserved to win because they controlled the match from beginning to end. Barcelona found it difficult to generate any significant chances and was outplayed by their fierce rivals.
As a result, Real Madrid will play Osasuna in the Copa Del Rey final on May 6 for the first time since 2014.
