Efya, a well-known Ghanaian musician, has discussed her lengthy career absence and her odd song release schedule.
During her visit as a guest on 3FM’s Urban Blend with AJ Sarpong, Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, 36, gave an open explanation for why she had been away from the entertainment industry for so long.
The singer admitted during the exclusive conversation that she had stopped singing during that time because of a broken heart.
“My heart was broken”, she revealed.
Efya claims that her emotional well-being has a significant impact on her creativity, and as a result, she opts to avoid the spotlight rather than express her suffering through music.
The celebrated singer said “I was heartbroken that I didn’t want to sing. You know I’m a baby girl so the way I feel matters to me a lot and it wasn’t something I wanted to deal with at that time.
“Also, I’ve been working for 15 years without break and in between these times I’ve been performing on all the shows and still representing. And I think I gave everyone their feature,” she concluded.
