Ajax midfielder Mohamed Kudus paid a heartfelt homage to his late countryman Christian Atsu during a Sunday Dutch Eredivisie match against Sparta Rotterdam.

During the celebration of scoring his first career free-kick goal, Kudus lifted his jersey, revealing a shirt that read “Rest in Peace Atsu” in memory of the Ghanaian footballer who tragically passed away recently. Atsu, 31, was discovered dead after the terrible earthquake in Turkey, his representative announced on Saturday, February 18.

Kudus’ mournful memorial of his fellow Black Stars player, whose death has crushed many, was heartfelt.
