Agradaa Found Guilty of Charlatanic Advertising and Fraud

The Circuit Court in Accra has convicted Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, also known as Nana Agradaa, a former traditional priestess who is now an evangelist, to 15 years in prison.

The punishment comes after she was found guilty of deceptive advertising and money laundering.

In 2022, Nana Agradaa was convicted of misleading people by making a false claim that she had spiritual abilities that could double money during a televised broadcast.

Many people were convinced to part with substantial sums of money in the hopes of receiving financial miracles that never materialized.

The court’s ruling is considered a big triumph in the fight against bogus spiritual scams and dishonest religious activities.
The court mandated a pregnancy test before sentencing, which verified she was not pregnant and allowed the sentencing to start right away.

The decision has sparked a lot of public outrage, with many hailing it as a resounding defence of justice and a stark warning to anyone engaged in similar frauds.
