Jonathan Majors, the Creed III actor, has been charged with assault and harassment after an incident in a New York apartment involving a woman.
Majors allegedly assaulted the 30-year-old woman on Saturday during a domestic dispute, according to police.
The actor’s lawyers have denied any wrongdoing.
They assert that the 33-year-old is the victim of the “altercation.”
The New York Police Department said they were called around 11:14 a.m. local time on Saturday after receiving a 911 call from an apartment in Manhattan’s Chelsea district.
The woman, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital with minor head and neck injuries.
According to Variety magazine, she claimed in her complaint that Majors slapped her and put his hand on her neck, injuring her and causing her “substantial pain.”
Priya Chaudhry, Major’s criminal defense lawyer, has stated that there is video footage and witness testimony to support their claim that he was the victim and that the woman in question, who he knew, has recanted her allegations.
Ms. Chaudhry also stated that she anticipates that all charges against her client will be dropped soon.
