Lance Reddick, an American actor who starred in major TV shows such as HBO’s “The Wire,” Fox’s “Fringe,” and films such as the “John Wick” franchise, died of natural causes Friday morning, Variety verified with his representatives.
He was 60. According to TMZ, he was discovered dead at his Studio City residence in Los Angeles on Friday morning.
In the upcoming “John Wick: Chapter 4,” which is set to hit theaters on March 24, Reddick returns as Charon, the concierge at the Continental Hotel in New York City who featured in all four installments.
In the second and third films, Charon collaborated with Keanu Reeves‘ unretired hitman, caring for John’s new canine and getting involved in the gun-toting action.
Reddick made his television debut in Season 4 of HBO’s prison thriller “Oz” in 2000. He portrayed Detective Johnny Basil, an undercover policeman who tries to stop the drug trade but soon becomes addicted himself and murders a corrupt cop by pushing him down an elevator shaft.
