Giorgio Armani, a fashion industry legend, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
At the age of 91, the Italian fashion giant passed away suddenly, leaving behind his renowned red-carpet costumes and other international ventures.
Armani introduced the world to the elegance of Italian design by bringing cutting-edge features to fashion worldwide.
The business tycoon launched his fashion company and became a multi-billionaire; he also ventured into the perfume industry, music, sports, and luxury hotels.
His company announced his demise on Thursday.
“With infinite sorrow, the Armani Group announces the passing of its creator, founder and tireless driving force: Giorgio Armani,” the fashion house said in a statement.
The haute couture brand Armani Privé, the Armani Casa design and interiors line, and the Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani clothing lines were all part of his extensive portfolio.
Throughout his career, Armani, the founder and sole shareholder of Giorgio Armani SpA, reportedly turned down multiple invitations to join one of the four major luxury fashion companies. He referred to his brand’s autonomy as “an essential value.”
