President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-highly Addo’s anticipated State of the Nation Address (SONA) has been moved to March 8th.
The President was originally scheduled to appear on the floor of the House to deliver the address on Tuesday, February 28.
The Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annor-Dompreh, announced the postponement while presenting the business statement for the third week ending Friday, March 3.
No special reason was given for the decision.
If nothing changes, the address will take place two days after the Volta Region’s 66th independence anniversary celebration.
According to Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, a president in office must perform the exercise.
