Ghanaian boxing sensation, Seth Gyimah who is popularly known as Freezy MacBones has opted to fight for the United Kingdom rather than Ghana.
He initially reached out to the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) to apply for a license to represent his homeland Ghana.
GBA president Abraham Neequaye said that the 33-year-old changed his mind when the GBA was replying to his application, which was soon before his spectacular fight that made news a few weeks ago.
“We sent him a message. And they can check it from Freezy himself. Before he fought in the UK, he came to Ghana to get a Ghana Boxing Authority license. He came for our license but when he wanted to fight and they wanted to get a release letter from us, he changed it to fight for the British. He was supposed to come for a release letter from us but he said he wanted to fight as UK national.”
The boxer gained global attention in April after defeating Darryl Sharp at the Copper Boxing Arena in London.
Freezy MacBones is set to return to the ring with an undisclosed boxer come June 16.
