Saint Obi, a well-known Nollywood actor, died tragically after a brief illness. The unfortunate incident occurred on May 6, 2023.
Several Nigerian media outlets have reported that Saint Obi battled an undisclosed illness for several months, undergoing treatment and frequent hospital visits.
According to a family member who confirmed the actor’s death on Sunday, the actor died at home and his body was transported to the morgue at Jos University Teaching Hospital after a visit to his sister’s home in Jos.
Saint Obi, 57, had just moved to Jos, the Plateau State’s capital, to be closer to his sister.
A source at JUTH confirmed that he was frequently seen being taken to the hospital while he was there.
Saint Obi, a renowned actor who was born in Imo State, made his name in the Nigerian film industry.
He appeared in more than 100 films over the course of his illustrious career, showcasing his extraordinary talent and enthralling audiences with his performances.
Both the entertainment industry and his fans are deeply saddened by his premature death.
Once disagreements with the deceased’s family have been resolved, the Actors Guild of Nigeria plans to issue a statement.
