The most recent celebrity BFF revelation just came from Sarah Paulson, and it dates back decades.
Paulson disclosed that she had known Pedro Pascal since the early 1990s, when he was a student at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in New York City, in a recent Esquire profile on the actor.
“We would go to see movies all the time in those years,” the Emmy winner told Esquire’s Dave Holmes, “and we would get so lost in them. You can fill in the blanks about the why of that however you like, but I think there were things we wanted to escape mentally, emotionally, spiritually.”
Pascal was a struggling actor at the time, going from one bad audition to another. After landing small roles on TV programs including “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and the MTV series “Undressed,” he relocated to Los Angeles in 1999.
But he was receiving nothing significant. Pascal returned to New York City in 2000 after leaving the city after the passing of his mother to return to Chile.
Paulson, who by this time was working steadier hours than Pascal, recalled how she watched out for her pal during that period to ensure he wouldn’t go hungry.
“There were times when I would give him my per diem from a job I was working on so that he could have money to feed himself,” Paulson said.
Paulson was referred to by Pascal as a member of his “New York family,” which was exactly what he needed to get through those trying times in his professional life.
